Version 1.05 BETA finished

Version 1.05 BETA is now finished and released. This version is the first one that exists in both a free and a registered version.

Competition is finished

What to say, more than that I feel disappointed. I got one sentence: "MusicVault is a program to collect and view information from MP3-files". ?!?!?!
I don't think the jury spent more than a few seconds examining the program...

Another thing that annoys me is that they put the bad version 1.02 on the CD, which will give bad credit to my program. I sent them the version 1.04, which have several bugfixes and improvements when they had problems with their server, but still they put the old version on the CD.

Well, forgive and forget. The competition was hard with several high-quality programs. I can now release MusicVault to the public. Download it here.

MusicVault version 1.04 Finished

More fixes and some speed improvements. Progress is better shown on time-consuming operations.

This version will be availiable for download as soon as the competition is finished.

MusicVault version 1.03 Finished

Some fixes and some improvements, mostly on the graphical appearance on XP. Also the ability to abort time-consuming operations.

MusicVault version 1.02 Finished

Finally, after hours of hard work, the last annoying bugs are removed, the beta testers have approved, and the contribution to the contest is sent.

Last minute fixes was some graphical bugs, some misspellings and some updates to the uninstaller.

MusicVault tested on Windows XP

I didn't expect any trouble running MusicVault on Windows XP, but today I have also tried it, and there was no problems.
One thing that is sad is that since I create my own components, they still got the "old" look (for example scrollbars etc...).
This makes another point on my actionlist, to make the controls more "XP-like".

I also noticed that XP's explorer shows the info from the MP3 tags in almost the same way as MusicVault does. Nice to see...

MusicVault will participate in programming contest

I have decided not to release MusicVault, because I want to join a programming contest arranged by the Swedish computer magazine DatorMagazin.
The final version 1.0 must be ready until the 30:th of july, so I just got my summer vacation booked.
MusicVault will be released after the contest.

Version 0.94 BETA is finished

I have been busy for several months, so there never was a release of the last version.
During this months, I have sometimes fixed some bugs and added some features, which have resulted in a new version. The most noticeable features in this new version is

• Drag and drop support both to/from other programs and within MusicVault.
• New possibilities to select individual songs via Ctrl-click
• Multi-language support
• A fast way to fill in Tag information "Excel-style" by dragging a handle of a selected cell.

I am planing to use my summer vacation to finish the version 1.0

Version 0.93 BETA is finished

This is the second actual release candidate, if it seem stable enough this version will be the actual 1.0 release after a last comment-round at the BETA testers.
The new version have support for network drives, some new columns (Year, Changed and Created) and a re-worked graphic appearance.

The program now comes with an automatic installer/remover from Nullsoft, to make installation easy.

MusicVaults homepage finally created !

All sections is not yet filled, but effort is beeing made to make it complete.

Version 0.92 BETA is finished

After much work, the new BETA version is finished. All reported bugs have been fixed and some new features have been added.
New features worth mentioning is:

• It is now possible to create a Vault of the songs on a harddrive.
• New super-fast sorting algorithm for the column headers.
• It is now possible to play the songs from a harddrive vault directly via the play panel.
• A dialog called "Vault properties" is created with info about the vault and it's owner.

Version 0.91 BETA is finished

This is the first real release candidate of the program. It is released to a limited group of BETA testers to collect the bugs before a final release.
New features in this release is:

• A better harddrive tree-view is created that looks more like the one in windows explorer.
• A dialog with statistics of the songs in the vault is created
• The filelist is now scrollable in the horizontal direction.
